Pre-Race Day Fun in Kailua-Kona


Some 2000+ athletes are here on Hawaii Island to compete in the 2013 Ironman World Championship on Saturday, October 12. But it’s not all serious training for these incredible athletes as race day approaches.

Thursday morning one of the week’s most outrageous and fun events took place again this year — the 2013 Kona Underpants Run. Initially put together decades ago as a poke at European athletes who not only trained on Hawaii Island’s roadways and highways in the skimpiest of briefs, but also comfortably roamed the streets of Kailua-Kona and its restaurants and stores post training!

We’re Out on the Town This Week Taking in the Sights!


It’s Ironman week in Kailua-Kona and this year the prestigious 2013 Ironman World Championship celebrates its 35th anniversary here on Hawaii Island. We took time away from our kitchen to snap a few photos to share all the excitement with you!
