Race Day at Huggo’s — 2011 Ironman Championship Underway!

Spotted at the 2nd annual "Thank God I'm Not Racing" party at Huggo's last night: Ultra Marathoner Mike Rouse, VP Running, K-Swiss; Bob Babbitt, party host, talk show host and exec Triathlon.Competitor.com and Huggo's GM Greg.

With the 1,918 2011 Ironman Championship competitors safely out of the water — and out of town now on their bikes — here at Huggo’s in the heart of Kailua-Kona village,  we’ve once again donned our hats from last night’s “Thank God I’m Not Racing” party hosted right here! This awesome event debuted last year and is hosted by Bob Babbitt of  “Breakfast with Bob” talk show fame. We should see the top finishers arriving at the finish line — just down the road from us — at about 3-3:30 p.m.  It’s just a quick (2.25 mile swim, 115+ mile bike, 36-mile run) sprint for these elite pro athletes from all over the world. Age-groupers and challenged athletes have until midnight to finish and we’ll be there cheering them home! Stay tuned for more action!
