After previewing — and tasting — the freshest, local seasonal ingredients available, Huggo’s Executive Chef Ken Schloss puts together his nightly specials each week. A week ago, diners feasted on his Whole Roasted Kampachi, Asian-style. Look forward to these dinner features over the next few days: .
“Of course, fresh daily seafood dishes are always given top billing. Huggo’s has developed incredible relationships with Big Island fisherman over the past 40 years; I can’t believe the quality and diversity of fish we see coming through our doors on a daily business — it’s every chef’s dream,” Schloss said.
Huggo’s own general manager, Greg, is known to land a few big ones on his deep sea ocean adventures off the Big Island of Hawaii as is soon to be seen in Farish Media’s (Regina and Mason Farish) “Salty Dog” sportfishing TV program on Versus. Here he is, pictured below, during season two filming!
Our new uniforms are the work of Hawaii’s renowned fashion designer Tori Richard. This surfboard design is right at home at Huggo’s waterfront restaurant in the heart of Kailua-Kona Village. When the south swell is up, the break right out front is one of the best on the island. You have a bird’s eye view from every table in the house! But no need to wait for the swell, our view is exceptional every evening of the year. Be sure to book dinner ressies in time to catch the always spectacular sunsets over beautiful Kailua Bay. We look forward to welcoming you to Huggo’s soon!
Follow us for a fun ride and updates on all the action in Kailua-Kona Bay and Kailua-Kona Village! Our landmark restaurant Huggo’s, celebrating more than 40 years of delivering ono cuisine with aloha, is strategically located directly on the waterfront in the heart of the village – we don’t miss much and we love to dish (“talk story” here in Hawaii). A little bit of this, a little bit of that — all in fun, always a bit sassy and sometimes just a bit naughty! Book early to catch our amazing West Hawaii sunsets, stay late to enjoy the live entertainment. Stay tuned, much more to come!
