Kona, Hawaii – The Seventeenth Annual Huggo’s Wahine Tournament is the largest ladies bill fish tournament in the Pacific, and is slated for Saturday the 28th of July along the Kona Coast of the Big Island of Hawaii.
Huggo’s Wahine Tournament is a ladies only marlin fishing tournament, held annually as a fundraiser for non-profit community organizations. This year, Family Support Hawaii Website: www.fsswh.org, will be the beneficiary. Over the past 16 years over $100,000.00 has been donated to charity.
The teams are competing for cash and prizes, and the majority of the marlins caught will be released for points, and the total points will determine the outcome.
Eric von Platen Luder, the tournament director, is very happy with the early turnout this year, with still space for a few more teams. Kona has produced some very large fish this summer, and we expect some red HOT fishing action for the ladies!
“We are one of, if not the, largest ladies marlin fishing tournament in the world,” Eric Von Platen Luder says, “We all have so much fun
planning the tournament, and the proceeds go to such a good cause, it’s a win-win event for everybody involved.”
