Huggo’s sister restaurant, Lava Lava Beach Club which opened at Waikoloa Beach Resort this summer, was one of more than 30 Hawaii Island restaurants participating in this popular annual event this weekend at the Hilton Waikoloa.

Executive Chef Colin and team created two tasty dishes — Carne Tinga (three-day, layered stewed beef)
and Thai-style Grilled Beef — that proved to be big hits with the more than 600 guests attending the event this year.
Overheard: “We haven’t been to the restaurant yet, but after tasting this we’ll be there soon!”; “Yum…I’ll have another, please!”; “Awesome Chef!” and “Best taste of the evening — so far!”
Kudos to all the participants, including numerous Big Island producers who offered up samples of everything from honey, tea and Portuguese sausage to chocolate and goat cheese. Huggo’s, On the Rocks and Lava Lava Beach Club all proudly feature products grown and produced on Hawaii Island.
