Start the evening off right with the special appetizer: Oven Roasted Thai Mussels in Thai Red Curry and Asian Fish Sauce with Coconut and Cilantro.
Follow that with Chef’s Macadamia Nut-Crusted Shutome (swordfish) in an Avocado-Coconut Cream Sauce served with Purple Molokai Mash, Baby Bok Choy and Shirley’s Own Mango Chutney!

Kudo’s to Chef Ken for his always winning specials AND congratulations to our own Team Huggo’s for their award winning finish in the 2012 Kukio Challenge Triathlon here on June 3. When not working hard, you’ll find Matt Dykes, Justin Butler and Eric von Platen Luder out training hard for various Tri events here on Hawaii Island. The relay team (Matt, swim; Justin, run; and Eric, stand up paddle board) took 3rd place honors, while Huggo’s server Nate Grocholski competed individually, clinching 1st place in his 30-44 age group.
Congratulations to the 1st and 2nd place relay teams: 1st place — Professional Triathlon Team comprised of Sian and Greg Welch; 2nd place — Team Thad Calciolari and Stehphen Cosgrove. Well done!
Huggo’s and Lava Lava Beach Club were one of the local sponsors for the event, serving up veggie frittatas and pancakes for the 250 participants, volunteers and spectators! A big mahalo to Paola Pagan and Kuki’o for hosting this annual event.
