Huggo’s Sister Restaurant Lava Lava Beach Club…

Lean grass fed beef is one of many dishes to be served up at the 17th Annual Taste of the Hawaiian Range on Friday night.

… will represent us at the 17th Annual Mealani’s Taste of the Hawaiian Range on Friday, September 21 at the Hilton Waikoloa Village from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. We join more than 30 restaurants and chefs at the event which shines awareness on Hawaii Island’s diverse bounty, mostly of the hooved variety!

Grass fed beef, lamb, goat, and pig are the stars at this event. Each chef is assigned a specific cut of meat from a particular animal to come up with her or his dish. Many are quite familiar  — lamb shank, beef tri-tip, pork belly — others not so much (beef cheeks, tripe, pigs feet)! The idea is to promote the use of every part of the critter, from head to toe. Lava Lava Beach Club Chef Colin, will be working his magic with beef round. Advance tickets, $40 per person, are available at Kona Wine Market and Island Naturals here in Kailua-Kona; $60 at the door.

Amazing sunsets at Lava Lava Beach Club!

Kau kau and enjoy!
