Huggo’s sister restaurant and toes-in-the-sand chic boutique resort, Lava Lava Beach Club, at Waikoloa Beach Resort was the subject of nationally recognized writer, Judy Wieder’s Huffington Post travel review last week.
The lengthy, descriptive piece reads in part: “The first time I heard about Lava Lava Beach Club at Waikoloa Resort on the Kohala Coast of the Big Island, I was overjoyed…,” she begins.
She interviewed several Hawaii Island hospitality industry gurus for the piece including owners/partners Eric von Platen Luder and Scott Dodd.
She includes this quote from Scott:
“Eric and I worked pretty closely on the concept for Lava Lava Beach Club,” Scott says of their two-years-in-the-making passage. “We really just looked at what was needed on the coast, what would appeal to residents and tourists alike, and then…” he continues with admirable frankness, “we created a place that we would like to go to ourselves.”
She continues:
“Fortunately, their good taste hit the sweet spot for many of us famished for an authentic Hawaiian beachfront destination.”
