Huggo’s General Manager Greg Peterson was born to entertain guests — his easy-going personality, quick smile and warm hospitality welcomes everyone to the restaurant as if they’re long lost friends. And his friendship is an instant fit, as comfortable as your go-to jeans or those molded-perfectly-to-your- feet pair of slippers. Best of all, he’s inspired to make every visit one of your most memorable evenings ever!
With more than 35 years in the hospitality business, Greg started his career at age 11 working at his family’s hamburger stand – The Surf Rite Inn — in Manhattan Beach, California. From day one he was a natural front of the house host! His first “tour of duty” in the Kailua-Kona restaurant scene was in 1979 when he was part of the opening team for the town’s now iconic Kona Inn Restaurant.
Through the years Greg has worked in fine dining establishments stretching from Hawaii to Sun Valley, Idaho and Southern California to Salt Lake City, Utah. But lucky for us, in 2006 Hawaii was calling him back! He returned to Hawaii Island and accepted a management position with Tommy Bahamas Restaurant at Mauna Lani Resort.
With his passion, hospitality and commitment to excellence, we were happy to lure him away when the General Manager position here at Huggo’s opened up. Today Greg oversees operations and shares his aloha with guests at Huggo’s and our sister restaurant On the Rocks located just next door.
Are you up for a memorable evening — come on in and leave it to Greg!
