The weekend edition travel Section (“The Age”) of the Sydney Morning Herald included writer Kerry van der Jagt’s lengthy feature (the cover story) on Hawaii Island and in it she gives Huggo’s a big shout out! The article, titled “Cowboys and Coconuts” reads in part:

“After an indulgent afternoon of coffee tasting, I end up at Huggo’s in the historic Kailua-Kona village. For more than 40 years, this iconic waterfront restaurant has served up fresh seafood caught by local fishermen. The venue is also well known for its prime Angus beef. After a quick scan of the menu, I settle on its signature Teriyaki Steak and the home-made Kona Coffee Cheesecake. As I’ve learnt (during this visit), sometimes it pays to turn your back on the ocean (including menu selections).”

With a readership of 2 million, more and more Aussies are becoming familiar with our fabulous Hawaii Island and all it has to offer — and learning about the aloha, and great food and beverage dished up nightly at Huggo’s.
