2014 Huggo’s Wahine Tournament

The 19th Annual Huggo’s Wahine Tournament takes place Saturday, July 26, 2014. This year’s theme is ʻThe Roaring 20ʻs,” so get your flapper gear ready for a Great Gatsby style party!

This fun-filled fishing tournament, with prizes for the best decorated boat and best costumed team, benefits Family Support Hawaii (FSH), formally Family Support Services of West Hawaii.

“We’re excited to be hosting our annual Wahine Tournament,” says Huggo’s owner Eric von Platen Luder. “Over the past 19 years this fun, charity-focused tournament has donated more than $140,000 to Family Support Hawaii. We’re thankful that through the community’s support of the event, FSH can make a difference in people’s lives.”

In addition to the prizes for best decorated boat and best costumed team, the all-women anglers are competing for cash prizes which will be awarded to the teams with the biggest marlin/billfish weighing more than 300 pounds. There will also be tuna, ono, and mahi mahi categories that will receive trophies for the largest catch.

The tournament kicks off with a registration party and briefing at On the Rocks Friday, July 25th at 6 pm.  Awards will be announced at a special awards presentation Sunday evening, July 27th at On the Rocks.
