We were elated to be chosen in a recent article by TravelAge West’s10 Classic Restaurants on Hawaii, Big Island

The author of the article narrowed down the top 10 restaurants that were at least 15 years old and appeal to visitors and residents alike.

Huggo’s

Launched in 1969, this open-air Kailua-Kona classic sits so close to the water that you could practically cast your fishing line out the window. It’s aptly known for fresh seafood like grilled mahi mahi and Kailua Bay cioppino. Equally popular: pastas made in-house and a signature teriyaki flank steak. Nightly live local music adds to the sense of place.

Huggo’s was mentioned among legendary big island restaurants Merriman’s and Roy’s Waikoloa Bar and Grill! We were especially thrilled to see Huggo’s and On the Rocks pictured on the top of the article by one of our favorite photographers Toby Hoogs!

Mahalo to TravelAge West for the fantastic article and the mention! To read the full article visit TravelAge West online.
