Having recently celebrated his first anniversary as General Manager at Huggo’s, we sat for a chat with Nakies Constatinou to review the past year after serving 7 years as Dining Room Manager at Huggo’s on Kailua-Kona’s waterfront. A native of the island of Cypress in the Mediterranean, Nakies moved to Hawaii Island in 2009.
More than 100 members of Kona’s business community enjoyed Huggo’s hospitality at the Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce’s monthly “AfterHours” event last week. Huggo’s General Manager Nakies Constantinou and team hosted the event with a surprise performance by a few of the culinary and front of house staff.
Nicolette Palacol out-foxed a 780-pound blue marlin to claim the overall win for Team Foxy Lady in the annual tournament held in the waters off Hawai’i Island’s Kona Coast on Saturday, July 30. She shared the victory with teammates Saige Padilla and Natasha Manasas from Team Foxy Lady!
Starting this month and EVERY third Thursday through the end of summer, Huggo’s will create a special, limited attendance four-course dinner paired to complement special selections from Fine Wine Specialist, Alex Thorpe, C.S.W.
Huggo’s re-invented its lounge and bar area earlier this year and while the casual camaraderie, incredible waterfront views (plus gorgeous sunsets) and warm aloha welcome remains, there’s a lot that’s new!
It is almost that time of year again. The 21st Annual Huggoʻs Wahine Fishing Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, July 30th! The theme this year is Wild, Wild, West! This all weekend event combines a day on the water, camaraderie for women, charity, and celebration among mothers, daughters, and friends.
